Millennium Fellowship Project: Stoop to Conquer

Stoop to conquer is aimed at exploring the place of education in building a society with equal regard for both genders, driving climate consciousness, combating poverty, and further building priority around quality education.
Led by Millennium Fellow Solomon Salvation, Stephen Joshua, Maureen Jesse Mafang, and Stephen Ezekiel, the project will ensure that all participants acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity and also, build and upgrade educational facilities that are child, disability and gender sensitive and provide safe, inclusive and effective learning environments for all.
From August -November, Fellows will engage with students from primary and secondary schools across Jalingo to sensitize them on why education is important, the need for gender equality, and how education can help combat poverty and climate change.
Fellows will engage in activities that promote the course like the establishment of the book club to train students in the course of social impact and personal development, tree planting in schools and selected areas, and other activities fellows may deem fit in the course of the project.
