" Being a member of the Millennium Fellow is an opportunity to participate in the global responsibility of making the world a better place. It also offers me a platform to address and fill the gaps that have been existing in the society. Through interactions with other Millennium Fellows, I look forward to learning from them as well as cultivating my leadership skills. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Rejuvenating Kenya

Rejuvinating Kenya is an initiative that seeks to reinvirogate the vigour in the society.
It aims at reaching out to the different groups in the society, listen to them, educate and empower them as a means on solving the different challenges that they may be facing. For instance:
1) Among the teenage girls we seek to educate them about their menstrual health, a topic that is rarely tackled in the community and come up with pad-drives that will help in eradicating menstrual poverty.
2) Among the teenage boys aim at tackling the issue of drug and substance abuse, due to the fact that more than half of of the teenage boys are on drugs.
3) For the ages 20-40, we are looking forward to dealling with depression, financial security and emotional intelligence a challenge that has lead many from that age group commiting suicide.
4) In the rural areas, we target to reach out to farmers, both large and small scale ones, and have sessions with them regarding agro-business and better ways for them to tap wealth from their lands.
5) For the society as a whole, we seek to emphasise on peace and its importance in an attempt to curb tribal clashes, theft, insecurities and other challenges that we may be facing due to lack of acknowledging peace in our country.
