Millennium Fellowship Project: The Big Five Project
The Big Five projects aim at solving the problem of water in some parts of the country which is are affected by drought and hunger. This will be achieved through the purification of lake or sea water nearby the area as well as harvesting rain water during the rainy season which causes flood in those areas. The harvested water can then be purified for domestic use. The project hopes to solve issues of water and consequently, have a positive impact on other SGD Goals like goals 2,3,10,13 and 15. Through a process of desalination we remove the dissolve salt minerals of sea water which can in then be used for human consumption and agricultural processes. High temperatures in those semi arid place with help us use solar energy to facilitate the process of desalination.
