" My experiences as a queer South Asian have largely shaped my views of the world and my passion for social justice. I’ve always wanted to create and nurture a space of empowerment and community building for those who seek it, and the Millennium Fellowship will help me to accomplish this. I’m looking forward to improving my skill set in creating meaningful and lasting social change! "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Students Against Campus Sexual Assault

For my project I will be creating and coordinating a student led organization that focuses on campus sexual assault. There is no student based community for those that have been impacted by sexual assault, and it is important for everyone to have the opportunity to educate themselves, tell their stories, and get the resources they need. This organization will provide all of these elements in a safe and accepting environment by hosting events throughout each semester. A few examples are educational guest speaker events, discussion panels about different topics (ex: intersectionality, women's experience with the legal system, etc.), and survivor story telling circles. Hosting these events will not only be empowering for those that have been impacted by campus sexual assault, but will also spark more discussion among the CU Boulder community.
