" Having the opportunity to work alongside a determined and inspired community of students hoping to improve the state of the world through the UN's sustainable development goals is going to be an amazing experience. As a student motivated by the several pertinent issues which pervade and threaten the stability of our society, initiatives like the UN Millennium Fellowship inspire hope that other young adults and I will be the face of change for our world. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Students Against Campus Sexual Assault

Students Against Campus Sexual Assault is a student led organization at CU Boulder that addresses the issue of campus sexual assault. Our goal is to foster a healing and empowering community for students and to create systemic change at our university.

About the Millennium Fellow

Hima Kilaru is a pre-law student attending the University of Colorado, Boulder. A Colorado native who grew up with a developed appreciation for nature and an
intersectional lens rooted in her perspective as a woman of color, Hima is passionate about advocacy and social justice concerning environmental and human rights issues. Throughout her years of earning an education in political science and philosophy in Boulder, Hima has become active in her community in addressing the deficiencies society maintains in failing to adequately address historical and current injustices against minority groups, including racial minorities and women. This is evident in her work reforming racial educational programs through local nonprofit organizations and participating in research in the energy transition world among political and economic institutions. Hima hopes that in the future, she can use her education in law to advance the causes for environmental and sustainable efforts in the world while fighting and advocating for international social injustices.
