UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT NOEMI MARTA IRA, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2022.
University of Colorado Boulder | Colorado, United States | Advancing SDG 5 & UNAI 6

" Sexual assault is extremely prevalent on college campuses. While official school resources exist for reporting, I believe there is a gap in education and advocacy within the student body at our university. Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship will allow me to make a greater social impact within my community through collaboration with Fellow students. As the first student-run organization against campus sexual assault, we will provide learning opportunities, open discussions, and a space for anyone wanting to learn more about this issue. I am excited to see the ways in which we can raise awareness about the issue and advocate for more tangible change. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Students Against Campus Sexual Assault
The project is focused on founding a student group on campus that raises awareness for sexual assault and supports victims of sexual assault. Our campus does not currently have a student based group, and this project would be a great way to incorporate student voices into the issue. I believe that a student based group could enact more systemic change within the school community as we could organize events with more student engagement.
