Millennium Fellowship Project: 2WayHealth

Healthcare is a two-way street. While healthcare depends on physicians treating and diagnosing individuals, quality healthcare stems from an understanding of the patient perspective of healthcare—an understanding that enables improvement of the system. 2WayHealth is a program designed to help aspiring physicians gain the patient’s perspective on the healthcare system. 2WayHealth connects aspiring medical students with individuals who have been diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease. Mutually beneficial, the program hopes to curb increased disease progression associated with social isolation of patients with neurodegenerative disease while providing students a patient perspective on our healthcare system.
