Millennium Fellowship Project: The Safe Haven

Safe Haven is a youth-run Non-Profit Organization(registration pending) that aims to help and build a safe space where people from marginalized backgrounds (Women, Children, Members of LGBTQI+ and Kinnar Community) can openly discuss their problems, help and support each other. Our project aims to build awareness among people and raise funds for social work. The relief resource (both cash and kind) are donated to groups or individuals in need.

We are currently working on three projects. First is Astitva through which we aim to help people who find themselves on the wrong end of majoritarian and unfair treatment based on their gender and/sexual identities. The second project is Humraah, which is a series of donation drives that would work parallelly among the other wings. The third project is Shakti, through which we aim to spread awareness about violence and abuse faced by gender and sexual minorities.

We organize webinars, seminars, and sensitization sessions to make people aware of their problematic biases and help induce change in their mentality. Through categorical awareness projects about issues, we try to impart deeper understanding among people so that they can join the cause and provide help to people in need.
