" The kind of change education brings in ones life is tremendous and is second to none. There are hundreds of thousands of kids who miss out on education if not millions, with my project I hope to bring the change, to bridge the gap between oportunities and students so that they do not miss out on education and the kind of places in life where eduaction takes them.
And because of the platform and like minded peers I will get to see and work with while being a Millennium Fellow am really really excited and very much looking forward to this wonderful transactional journey! "
Millennium Fellowship Project: BRIDGE
The idea through Bridge is to reach out to students, including but not limited to those with least of resources, and make them aware about the existing opportunities right from scholarship grants available from government's end to different fellowships available at organizations like UN. Bridge aims to address students with least of resources so plan of action for them remains simple too. We plan to host students (primarily from 8th to 10th standard) once in a month in their respective schools only and that is where we will inform them about the available scholarships, grants, fellowships, making them aware about useful resources like Khan Academy which is impacting students life like no other with their "free" quality education but unfortunately many of the students with whom we aim to work with remain unaware about all of these. Nobody knows where these opportunities can take these students to; one might come to know about National Talent Search Examination, a initiative under government of India where they recieve financial aid grants right from their high school to their postgraduate or one might discovers the prestigious space settlement competition from NASA, you never know. We at Bridge understand and are optimistic that something like this to someone coming from not so much of available resources could be life changing, many a times students are not aware about these opportunities and this is where Bridge hopes to act as bridge between students and these many existing opportunities.
