Millennium Fellowship Project: Role of Media in Fighting Corruption
The level at which corruption is growing in Nigeria has reached a stratospheric proportion. Despite the measures put in place by the government to combat the act, the West-African country is currently ranked 154 least corrupt nations out of 180 countries, according to Corruption Perceptions Index(CPI).
As a student-journalist, one would be forced to ask "how do I help in rescuing my sinking country from the pool of Corruption.
As a Millennium Fellow, I'm working on the project in line with the Social Development Goal, SDG16 which aims at actualizing justice and eliminating any form of corruption.
Part of my activities is to provide us(the campus journalists) with a platform that would enlighten us on our role to effortly fight corruption, particularly holding the public officers accountable.
