United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. Over 31,000 young leaders on 2,400+ campuses across 140+ nations applied to join the Class of 2022.  200+ campuses worldwide (just 8%) were selected to host the 3,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Youth and Drug Abuse

The Youth and Drug Abuse (T.Y.D.A.) is a project led by a Millennium Fellow Victor Echefuna Okorie. Project T.Y.D.A. addresses the harmfully effect drug abuse pose on the youth of this generation.

The project is aimed at educating secondary school students and the entire youth on the harmfully effect of drug abuse, drug abuse has reduced the productivity and creativity of the youth and crime rate has increased. During the Millennium Fellowship period T.Y.D.A project will host at least two online sessions and visit five secondary school. We are aiming to reach out to at least 500 youths.

About the Millennium Fellow

Victor Echefuna Okorie is a bright, young and hardworking student at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Nigeria.
He was born in Katsina state Nigeria, and is currently studying Medical Laboratory Science in Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Nigeria. He is someone how has been passionate about making impact in the community he lives. This passion has drove him into getting involved in some activities that benefit the community and it people. In the view to make more impact his started up an nongovernmental organization (NGO) called IMPACT YOUTH INITIATIVE (IYI) that goes round secondary schools within the communities creating health awareness and career development scheme. He plans to continue making use of any platform available to ensure he keep making impact and contributing to the development of his community and country.
