The project was to help with literacy in the Akosua village MA school. We had series of interaction and then organised an inter classes quiz competition to test what we have shared throughout the process.
About the Millennium Fellow
Hi, I’m Abubakar Mohammed Aminu, proudly from Ejura, a Zango community. Growing up, I saw both the rich potential and the tough challenges around me—and that sparked a deep desire to be part of the solution. That’s what led me to Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, focusing on Development Communication. I wanted to understand how to make a real difference, how to communicate development iniatives and how to cause lasting change especially in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. I gave it my all, and graduated with a First-Class Honours.
Believing that real change starts close to home, I joined the Millennium Fellowship to gain the tools, mindset, and connections to drive meaningful progress in my community. That experience deepened my passion and strengthened my resolve. And mow, I’m building on that by pursuing an MPhil in Conflict, Human Rights, and Peace Studies— this is in line of of my passion for social justice issues, empathy and humanitarian concern, peace building and conflict resolution, global security, and an interest in law and policy on the nexus of peace, conflict, violence and human rights. b
I know that sustainable development can’t happen without addressing the deeper, complex issues that our communities face.
Development work is more than a career path for me—it’s a calling. My dream is to bring sustainable, lasting change to the people of Ghana and beyond, helping shape a future where no one is left behind.
