Millennium Fellowship Project: Mental Health Awareness

Mental health is a very serious issue in our society and particularly on campus. As a mental health advocate from the Ghana Youth Movement for mental health and WHO e-quality rights training, I took the bold step upon my self. My idea is to provide necessary information about mental health and as well provide psychological first aid to colleague students to help themselves in mental health issues. As a passionate young person from a poor background, I got involved in these issues because of my experiences and as well my volunteer activities. It is through them that I landed into the training of becoming a mental health Ambasador. Though I have other projects on education, climate change and likes, I believe mental health is what I should work on at my university with which I have already embarked on projects and still planning and working on.
I plan of hosting an interview sessions with media group on campus and also incorporate mental health in all the clubs with which I am a leader. I believe a lot of people still needed the awareness to demystify and de stigmatize the issues surrounding mental health.
