" I have always been very passionate about equal rights to everyone, even in small matters. Students in low-income communities have long been deprived of quality education in that other than the basic, monotonous subjects they are being taught, there are no preparatory lessons for their life after school, especially in higher institutions. They are not equiped with skills that can help them stand out when they leave school. This puts them at a double disadvantage; first, they are from low-income communities and secondly, they may not be able stand their peers in matters outside books and in the practicality of soft skills. If we cannot solve the issues with their communities yet, we can increase the quality of their education.

Being a Millennium Fellow is amazing because I have just gained a platform to launch my passion. Thank you, Millennium Fellowship "

About the Millennium Fellow

Deborah Tayelolu Odimayo is a goal-oriented and passionate individual. She is a final year student of the department of Physiotherapy, University of Ibadan. She was born in Nigeria and is an indigene Ondo State.

Deborah is equally advancing her career into Cloud Computing and Digital Marketing.
She has a keen passion for meaningful impact on the people around her.

Her lack of early exposure to soft skill and its importance in secondary school, and the negative impact that knowledge gap had on her self confidence as a young undergraduate student have motivated her desire to reach out to secondary students in low-income communities. She hopes to bridge this reoccurring knowledge gap in their education.
