By joining the Millennium Fellowship, I will be able to discern these skills and do my duty by sharing them with other Millennium Fellows, be it for this year or upcoming years. Moreover, my campus will be involved in environmental activities and this is why it is fundamental to use these skills effectively to achieve our goals. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Zilo
"Zilo" is a project reuniting scarce resources to maximise awareness on water resources and their value. Water being an essential element and Mauritius being surrounded by water, the millennium fellows of the University of Mauritius will be organising simple activities to promote the SDG 14 such as cleanups of water bodies, reducing marine pollution, raising awareness on the importance of mangroves, among others.
About the Millennium Fellow
Bhomeshkumar Seetaram is an undergraduate student currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws with Honours degree at the University of Mauritius. He is very connected to his motherland Mauritius and believes in the importance of patriotism and the advancement of his country. To add, Bhomeshkumar is part of several youth networks; He is a Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador at the Global Youth Climate Network (An initiative of the World Bank Group's Youth to Youth Community); the Deputy Secretary General of the African Network for Policy Research and Advocacy for Sustainability (ANPRAS); the Executive Secretary of Let's Do It Mauritius; the Membership Coordinator of Youth for Oceans and the Public Relations Officer of the UOM Law Society and Alumni. He is really determined to be a Millennium Fellow 2022.
