Millennium Fellowship Project: Project EOD Health

Project EOD Health stands for Eye, Oral and Dental Health. It was a project targeted at the University of Benin students community and the project consisted of two parts, an enlightenment campaign and a Checkup program. It held Nov 24, 2022 I was part of the planning committee for the project and it brought together Pharmacy Students, Optometry students, and dentistry students to carry out the project. During the enlightenment part of the project, the students of the University of Benin were enlightened on oral, dental and eye health. They were also enlightened on drug abuse. While in the checkup part of the project, tests were conducted like Eye tests, BMI check, BP check, Visual acuity checks, HIV tests, hep B tests. Professional advise were given based on the results of these tests. Sourvenirs were also given out such as condoms, student pack materials, menstrual pads, blood tonic and supplements?n

About the Millennium Fellow

John Adeyemi is a young, proactive and resourceful individual who was born in Southwestern Nigeria but currently schools in the University of Benin, South-southern Nigeria. John has a burning desire for public health advocacy, most especially which has made him to be vocal and involved in health campaigns that address social issues such as Drug abuse, Health Education as applicable in his environs which entails Nigeria as a developing country. This passion has driven John to study a course that is integral in Public health; Pharmacy and as such would place him in a profession that would enable him to contribute to advancing Public health further.
