" I am a problem solving, reliable, resourceful, and solution-oriented youth who volunteers selflessly to the youth development in Cross River State, Nigeria. This desire to impact lives and ensure good health and well-being that will enhance long life expectancy is evident in my volunteerism in NGOs across Calabar and administrative leadership in organizations created to change and improve the quality of African Health through evidence-based research by engaging young and seasoned health professionals on health issues through training, peer group research writing, and sustainable health intervention
The Millennium Fellowship will further sharpen my analytical thinking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while expanding my network and offering cross cultural experiences beyond my imagination. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: First Aid & Me; Yes2life!

First Aid and Me (FAME) project is an innovative project by Millennium Fellows ; Grace Mmesomachi Oji and Okechukwu Henry. This project is aimed at bridging First Aid Knowledge gap in school Children. It will educate school children on what to do in emergency situations, correctly perform resuscitation and debunking common first aid misconceptions. While building self efficacy in them, the project events will be infused with short films, drug abuse prevention campaigns, and educating ice breakers, as well as open discussions on issues affecting Adolescents.

About the Millennium Fellow

Grace Mmesomachi Oji is a solution oriented Public Health Undergraduate at the University of Calabar, Nigeria who is passionate about policy development. She identifies world problem emanating from systems and policies and thus, advocates for enabling policies that eradicates injustice and climate neglect, inclusive women leadership and solid health systems.

Mmesomachi holds roles of Administration, Policy development as well as Monitoring and Evaluation in various organizations she volunteers in across states. She and her team identifies societal problems and executes sustainable projects that proffer lasting solutions to community issues.

She executes SDG 3 and 13 advocacy projects towards SDGs actualization.
