" Being accepted as a Millennium Fellow is super important and exciting to me, the platform is a source of exposure that will enable me share my voice with a larger audience regarding the risk and complications of hypertension. I am interested in the education of young people and adults on this topic because I realize that most people who suffer complications of this cardiovascular is as a result of ignorance and lack of access to helpful resources. "

My project deals on spreading awareness on hypertension to elderly people in my couminty who have no idea of the word 'hypertension' and hence do not know if they are at risk or not
About the Millennium Fellow
Onuada Stella is a 5th year medical student of the university of Calabar, Cross Rivers State, Nigeria. The growing pandemic of sudden death as a result of impaired cardiovascular functions has remained a cause of concern to Stella, however, the lack of education and awareness among Africans makes the situation even more outrageous. Stella hopes that she could use this platform to educate and encourage the general public about the risk and dangers of hypertension.
