Millennium Fellowship Project: Change Your Lifestyle Program (CYL)

Change Your Lifestyle Program is a program that is focused on educating many individuals on changing negative lifestyles that predisposes them to developing Prediabetes and ultimately type 2 diabetes (this is if they already have prediabetes at the time). Although the risk of developing this disease is higher with age, the program was designed to reach out to students on campus basically and educate them on halting such lifestyles that predisposes them to developingit overtime and also educating them on lifestyle changes that will help them not to develop Prediabetes or reverse it if they already developed it. The theme of the program is "PREDIABETES AND LIFESTYLE CHANGES: THE NEEDED INFORMATION". The education in this program was done through webinars (online or offline, depending on the situation at the time of holding the webinar). Two webinars have been held as at today on the program (one online and the other offline). The webinar reached out to over 100 persons and many gained from it. The program will still continue to go on from time to time reaching out to more students and members of the student/University Community both individually and corporately. The knowledge of the individuals were assessed before the commencement of the webinar were it was feasible (in the online webinar), also the knowledge of the individuals/participants were accessed after the webinar. So as to measure the impact of the education and the willingness of the participants to adopt positive lifestyle changes that will help them in a bid not to develop or to reverse Prediabetes.
