" "Knowledge is power and it agrees with a common axiom; 'early detection is key to surviving a disease'. These sayings reveal how priceless information is to living in good health. It is this knowledge that spurs me to share my views on disease prevention and on effective management practices. I believe that armed with the right information, individuals can make better informed choices regarding their health, medication and safe lifestyle hence they will become health promotion partners." Millennium Fellowship Project: Fight Against Hypertension

The Fight Against Hypertension is a project that aims at promoting the awareness on hypertension (HTN) to students at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and by extension, their loved ones. Hypertension is a threat to the health of people, and it kills silently.
There is an axiom that an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. Therefore, the project is one of the preventive measures towards HTN and extensively to other cardiovascular diseases like stroke and heart failure.
The project would promote quality health through the following activities:
i. Creating awareness of chronic diseases, in particular hypertension (HTN).
ii. In light of the fact that HTN is not only a disease of the elderly but can also affect the young, a healthy living tomorrow begins with living right and consciously today.
iii. Educating people on how to go about the prevention and also better management of the disease for those already suffering from it is key.
iv. This project would be carried out through outreaches (free blood pressure checks), seminars, virtual meetings via Zoom, and the creation of fliers, banners, and 3D animations to communicate our intentions.
