" " Sustainable cities and Communities. I think this is a perfect summary of what I hope to achieve through the Millennium Fellowship . I can only dream of a city where there are proper or should I say efficient waste disposal methods, Jos being my focus point. Being a Millennium Fellow would grant me access to vast knowledge and the rare opportunity to communicate with people who share my passions and are ready to do something about it. I can't wait." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Break the Chain: Leave No One Behind

“Break the chain, leave no one behind” is a project that focuses on “Sexual and Reproductive Health” and seeks to target underprivileged students of selected secondary schools in Jos, Plateau State. We hope to educate, empower and sensitize students on rising societal issues such as; rape, abortion, STDs, personal hygiene, virginal infections, premarital sex, human trafficking, gender equality etc. We wish to distribute items such as; sanitary pads to female students as well as tissues and sanitary towels to male students. Instructional materials like text books, note books, and journals will also be distributed. We are targeting both students with disabilities, Muslim and Christian students in typical rural settings of Plateau state. So many of these girls have been infected by bacteria as a result of their inability to afford a sanitary pad thereby using other materials/items which are harmful and dangerous to their health and wellbeing.
