" To wake up one morning and see that a little boy is not being told to ignore pain because he is a man is my drive. To see a Society where a little girl is raised to aspire to the greatest possible level in any field is my passion. To see a world where passion not prestige or income is the reason why a boy chooses a career. I could go on and on but basically I do the the work I do cause I want to live in a world where our humanity is celebrated not repressed by gender expectations.
The power of information and training can not be overemphasized. I hope to be groomed by the Millennium Fellowship on global leadership principles and to become through the program a more informed a better leader and advocate foy chosen cause "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Break the Chain: Leave No One Behind
Breaking the chains is a collaborative effort of a group of millennium fellows of the university of Jos which targets teenagers, educating them on Gender equality, mental health and sexual and reproductive health and hygiene.
This project also targets communities to educate them on environmental hygiene.
The Tittle of the project is a deliberate representation of the attempt to eradicate the issues which the project targets that have continued to be prevalent in our community. And like a chain are all interrelated.
We would be hosting two visits to secondary schools and one visit to a community to carry out this project during the run of the fellowship with plans to continue beyond the fellowship requirement. This project is a merger of all the original projects submitted by the fellows.
