Millennium Fellowship Project: Sustainable Development Advocates

As an individual with an innate zeal for service to humanity, I joined SDA in 2020 so as to chart a course of change. Sustainable Development Advocate (SDA) is the first registered club on campus to advocate solely for the SDGs. Its implementations are done through partnerships and physical advocacy to drastically reduce students' ignorance of the SDGs.
Over the years, SDA has partnered with organizations like HULT prize- a global competition that challenges students’ to build and deliver social change through entrepreneurial and leadership skills, Mason Research Hub- a 3 day training program on the SDGs and social development that impacted over 500 students. SDA also emerged as African Youth for Environmental Fellowship, where she developed an initiative to tackle plastic pollution. SDA also consistently advocates physically for the SDGs through -clean-up project at Ilaje Bariga, mentorship seminars for students on campus amongst others.
Specifically during the pandemic, SDA was able to build a community of like minded individuals through its Covid-19 broadcast- an initiative aimed at ensuring participation of educated and uneducated individuals in covid-19 preventives measures and we partnered with Helpmate Youth Foundation to conduct an education summit webinar which impacted over 2000 students.
