Millennium Fellowship Project: Disrupting Antimicrobial Resistance Project

The Disrupting Antimicrobial Resistance (DAMR) project is a collaborative project by Halimah Alao, Mariam Fatade, Abdulqudus Sanusi and Oluwateniola Ale. DAMR aims to raise awareness and sensitization about the global health issue of antimicrobial resistance. AMR is emerging and sadly enough people are not aware of the dangers it poses. The project aims to educate the public about the existence and dangers of antimicrobial resistance, as well as how to reduce AMR using the One Health Approach. In the fight against AMR, we hope to instill a guardian spirit in young people. They will also assist in spreading the word. We hope to educate people in places of worship, secondary school students, youths, patients and if possible farmers on the dangers this menace poses to global health. We'll do this through public physical meetings & awareness and also through virtual masterclasses.
We hope to reach at least one hundred people between August and December 2022.
