" "The desire for continuous learning and growth is my drive for seeking out opportunities like this. The Millennium Fellowship provides a good platform for young people like me to expand their vision, dream big and pursue their dreams in order to create greater impact in the society. The exposure, skills and experiences I will gain from being a Millennium Fellow will help me set and achieve greater goals that will be more alligned with SDG's and the UNAI." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Mentis Project

The mentis project is bordered on eradicating the stigma attached to mental ailments
in my country. There is still a lot of stigma because many believe mental illnesses are
caused by spiritual forces.I'll achieve this by sensitizing people especially young
people about the different mental illnesses and how to identify them.I will also make
them comfortable expressing their thoughts and emotions so as to detect mental
disorders if any.
I would also want to be a mediator between mental health specialists (such as
psychiatrists and psychologists) and patients through which they can get standard
consultation at reduced or no cost.
Lastly,I would advocate for the government to care for schizophrenics roaming the
streets through this project.
We also started an online campaign on mental health and we are using that to create awareness about the importance of mental health consciuosness and to commemmorate the World mental Health Day on the 10th of October
