Millennium Fellowship Project: Two-fold malaria initiative
The 2-fold malaria initiative is a project aimed at educating pregnant women on proper malaria prevention in Uyo, Akwa-ibom state.
The project entailed awareness campaigns directed at enlightening expected mothers on the effects of malaria during pregnancy.
The two-fold malaria initiative seeks to promote the sustainable development goal3: Good health and well-being, by organizing awareness campaigns, targeted at educating over 100 pregnant women in the community on malaria disease, its effect, and prevention during pregnancy to reduce the mortality rate. Physical and online awareness will be carried out as well as individual counseling sessions between August and November.
About the Millennium Fellow
Blessing Inyang Is a smart, young and purpose driven student of the faculty of Pharmacy, university of Uyo, Nigeria. She was born in uyo, Akwa-ibom state, Nigeria and currently resides in Uyo. She developed interest in public health at a very young age and is enthusiastic about ensuring that her community has adequate access to knowledge about the various diseases affecting them, it’s treatment and measures on how to tackle them. Being given the opportunity to be part of Millennium campuse network will help her in achieving her goals and ensuring that the sustainable development goal 3 is attained in her community and its environs.
