Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Deep Clean

Millions of people die every year from diseases associated with unsafe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene. Young children are particularly vulnerable . WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) related diseases remain among the leading causes of death in children under 5 years.
This initiative seek to promote SDG 6: Clean water and sanitation. Our project aims to (1) Educate pupils of Legend Nursery/ Primary school in uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. This will increase awareness on proper waste management, proper disposal of faeces. (2) Show them importance of practicing personal hygiene and demonstrate the basic technique in hand washing . These will further improve water quality by reducing pollution and eliminating dumping. The physical training will also include teachers who will help guide the pupils.
We will reach out to over 200 pupils in Legend Nursery / Primary school. They will take a pre-assessment survey before the education starts and at the end of the project,a post-assessment survey to measure the impact of the project.
