" Child's right in Nigeria is often disregarded and infringed upon. Children are abused without any care. Being part of the Millennium Fellowship will award me the opportunity to fight more for the rights of children (especially those accused, battered and abandoned for being "witches").
I'm excited to join this amazing platform to do more advocating for the common child. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: OjujuAfrica Project
My project simply is to help underadvantaged Children in Akwa Ibom state. It is really disheartening seeing children fend for themselves because they are thrown out by their families accusing them of being witches. These children childhood are being robbed off by the very people who are to love and protect them.
This project of mine has already taken off. What I do is to provide food, clothings and tutor them. Certainly, this is not enough. My aim is to get these children off the streets and ultimately work with constituted authorities to punish the parents for child abuse.
