Millennium Fellowship Project: Grow Your Food Digitally
The project title; GROW YOUR FOOD DIGITALLY presented by Ibeh Caleb Ikechukwu is a one that aims at achieving zero hunger and focuses on reducing food insecurity by motivating young people on the use of ICT in small-scale farming with four Internet of Things (IoT) in agriculture which are;
IoT in Agriculture to Monitor Grain Storage to small-scale local farming
IoT in Agriculture for Pest Management
IoT in Agriculture for Utility Management and
IoT in Agriculture for Drone Deployment.
This project was brought up to fight the issue of food insecurity by using Internet of Things (IoTs) as an attractant to pull youngsters into small-scale farming to fight food insecurity.
This project has a target audience of 100 to 150 people focusing on the IoTs in agriculture. The project is to be carried out both online and offline. We would be organizing online webinars which a target audience of 100 to 150 university undergraduate students. We would also have physical outreach to University undergraduate students in their campus.
About the Millennium Fellow
Caleb Ikechukwu Ibeh is a bright, young and technologically inclined pharmacy student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Agulu Campus. He was born Kano, resides in Abuja and is currently studying in Anambra Nigeria; truly a citizen of Nigeria. For as long as he could remember, Caleb has always been passionate about the utilization of technology in the Pharmacy profession to provide better health care needs of patients.
He also has always been passionate about the use of technology to curb the issue of food insecurity, scarcity and hunger. This passion has lead him to engage in various philanthropic and volunteering programs and projects for him to fight this challenging issue.
Caleb aspires to use this opportunity given to him by the Millennium Fellowship to fight the cause that’s he’s always been passionate about.
