I am excited to interact with young people of like minds and learn new possiblities- widening my horizon. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Birth not Death

Birth not death is an initiative that is geared towards combacting maternal mortality. I seek to educate women on identifying the danger signs of pregnancy and report to their health care providers early, before they become full blown complications, thereby increasing the risk of maternal deaths.
This project would involve training some other people who would not only work with me but also be able to care on the project to even beyond my target population, Nnewi in Anambra State of Nigeria. I also intend of reaching out to these women through their leaders( community and religious) who would make it easier to rally the women.

About the Millennium Fellow

Christian Kelechi Ibeh is a smart, young and energetic medical student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University. He has always thought of himself as someone the world needs; with respect to good health and well being of all people; with a particular interest in reducing the incidence of maternal mortality.
This passion has driven him into oragnizing and participating in outreaches, seminars and programs that are geared towards reducing maternal mortality in Sub-Sahara Africa. He plans on doing even more in the future.
He dreams of growing in the medical field, so he can go beyond Sub- Sahara Africa to the rest of the world; as such giving back to the society.
