" I have always envisioned a time when women empowerment and education would be a top feature of Nigeria, Africa and the world at large. Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship definitely takes me a step closer to this dream as I believe that the qualities and skills gained from this Fellowship will be used for global impact in alliance with the Sustainable Development goals of the United Nations. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Die Empty Project
The aim of the project is to make sure young people especially females maximize their potentials to the fullest and this can be achieved only when they have adequate education. The name of the project is coined for Les browns popular saying that "the graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled..." . It's basically a call to make the graveyards less rich.
About the Millennium Fellow
David Sharon is an intelligent young lady of Nigerian descent. She is a budding lawyer in her final year of study at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka . Sharon has always been passionate about women’s rights and gender equality since she was much younger. This is especially because she has had cause to move around different states with Nigerian from childhood and has as a result, gotten to see the way women have been treated and isolated in several cultures within Nigeria . As a young adult, she has made it her passion to ensure that women are liberated from the shackles of the patriarchy which has a strong hold on majority women of African descent. She has been involved in a number of campaigns, programs, leadership courses and seminars championing this same cause and hopes to engage with even more in the future. Sharon hopes to professionally take up Women’s rights advocacy so as to provide her own quota in support of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
