About the Millennium Fellow
Daniel Kanyi Maina is an intelligent, disciplined, and globally competitive medical student at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. While in college, he has worked to understand and improve the state of the health sector in his community by offering sustainable solutions to health problems dogging his community using an interdisciplinary approach.
In the future, he hopes to combine his passions for medicine, and health policy to pursue a career in international development as a doctor-health policy expert, enabling him to play a role in offering sustainable solutions geared at strengthening health systems globally, particularly in resource-limited settings thus contributing to the realization of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Daniel is also passionate about painting, swimming, and cycling.
