" The Millennium Fellowship as I am aware gathers students from across the world, and for me this is a great opportunity to know and interact with people from across the globe. I am also excited to be in company of youth passionate about the SDGs and can therefore exchange ideas on the same. We have just little over 7 years to achieve the SDGs, and I believe movements like this are what will make us hit the mark. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Greening Schools

Greening schools was started in September 2022. It is an initiative to reforest schools in Kenya. We selected schools and children between the ages of 10 and 15 because of the sustainability gap. When it comes to issues of climate change, both now and in the future, children are most important. The goal of greening schools is to plant native and fruit trees as well as teach students how to care for the trees and surroundings. They have had an equal introduction to worldwide educational and environmental care resources. It falls primarily on the teachers to make sure the kids make the most of their exposure to the world and develop experience in a global classroom.
Our partnership with Eco-care Kenya resulted in the donation of fruit trees. They also provided us with knowledge about planting in terms of manual labor and spacing. Additionally, Eco Care has agreed to accompany us as we visit other schools. In order to ensure that our project expands beyond of Nairobi and other counties, we also intend to collaborate with other media outlets.
The project will last for many years, not just this one.
