Millennium Fellowship Project: Eco-Agriculture

EcoAgriculture was all about creating awareness among farmers who are the primary producers of food. We built a community of mass farmers in Kenya and imparted knowledge of sustainable farming systems to them. The idea behind the project was to create an impact fueled by the community around me and the effects of food insecurity they were susceptible to. I believe that when a community is guided by the same principles and perspective, attaining a set target will be feasible. The priority was to aid in curbing food insecurity, soil degradation, climate change contributors, and poverty among the farming communities by championing sustainable farming practices such as Agroecology which offer sustainability and contribute to the fight against climate change and attaining food security.

About the Millennium Fellow

Felix Atamba is an undergraduate student, who is studying his Bachelors Of Science in Agriculture - Agricultural Economics Major at the University of Nairobi. He empowers the Kenyan local farmers and food producers by educating them about resource management and sustainable food systems through agroecology, food sovereignty, and seed sovereignty.

Felix conducts research on regenerative agriculture, rural development, and environmental sciences, as well as understanding global issues. He is actively involved in capacity-building training and environmental awareness in collaboration with rural communities as well as urban dwellers.

Felix has an interest in agriculture, agroecology, food sovereignty, seed sovereignty, regenerative agriculture, rural development, and environmental sciences, as well as a keen understanding of the challenges that face our planet today.

I'm interested in writing about anything related to Food Sovereignty, Agroecology, and anything related to Natural Resources Management as well as community-based agriculture and everything around it. Please get in touch if you'd like to reach out for any kind of collaboration.
