Millennium Fellowship Project: Social Impact at the University of Nairobi
The University of Nairobi's Millennium Fellowship cohort joined various SACCOs and Micro-Finance Institutions during this year's Savings week. As part of our Social Impact tour, we explored ways for these institutions partnering with us in advancing the SDGs. The event that took place at the Wakulima Market attracted many small-scale traders. We talked about how how the SACCO movement can support Young people by creating internships and offering decent work and economic growth for the entire society. On their part, the SACCOs shared the strategies they are using to end Poverty, alleviate hunger, and build sustainable cities and communities through their products.
About the Millennium Fellow
Jarumani Nassoro Hamisi is a dedicated and competitive young professional double majoring in Political Science and Armed Conflict at The University of Nairobi. He was born in Mombasa county, Kenya. His concentration on undergraduate studies has provided invaluable insight into the civil rights, constitutional, and humanitarian crises in today's world. He hopes that his skills will lead to a greater sense of social equality.
He's a reliable team member with a personable nature and upbeat communication style, and experience in collaborating with team members to ensure the delivery of unrivaled customer support. He can employ an excellent and structured approach to problem-solving, project management, and dealing with change in the organization, thus contributing to efficiency and integrity in any organization. This is achieved by being detailed-oriented and quick grasp of every piece of information by watching my work keenly without losing sight of the strategic objectives.
