Millennium Fellowship Project: Social Impact at the University of Nairobi
The University of Nairobi's Millennium Fellowship cohort joined various SACCOs and Micro-Finance Institutions during this year's Savings week. As part of our Social Impact tour, we explored ways for these institutions partnering with us in advancing the SDGs. The event that took place at the Wakulima Market attracted many small-scale traders. We talked about how how the SACCO movement can support Young people by creating internships and offering decent work and economic growth for the entire society. On their part, the SACCOs shared the strategies they are using to end Poverty, alleviate hunger, and build sustainable cities and communities through their products.
About the Millennium Fellow
Nickson is a bright, young , passionate and globally competitive economics student. He was born in Kenya and undertakes his undergraduate studies in economics in the university of Nairobi , he is passionate about SDG 3.This drive is translated from seeing hi community plunging into a global crisis of it's youth being swallowed by teenage pregnancies and HIV/AIDS. In his college studies,Nickson has been able to successfully organize projects and community meetings with his group members to steer awareness in this global menace. Nickson has passion and urge to help in the united nations sustainable development goals in it's realization.
