Millennium Fellowship Project: Jenga Jamii - Build The Society

OUR PROJECT ADDRESS: NO POVERTY
PROJECT NAME: JENGA JAMII (meaning build the community)
We address no poverty and no hunger by empowering Refugees, particularly the most vulnerable, women, girls, elders and the disabled living in urban areas by restoring their lives, building their leadership skills, promoting resilience, connecting them to networks and supporting their integration into Kenyan society for economic growth. We achieve this via the development of educational, cultural, advocacy and livelihood activities.

About the Millennium Fellow

Samadou Nyongolo is a Community Interpreting student at University of Nairobi Center for Translation and Interpreting, Nai, Kenya. Samadou is passionate about advocating for economic transformation of marginalized communities, displaced population and inclusion of person living with disability in mainstream economic activities. As a Nairobi resident, much of his education focused on advocating to create an impact that bring changes to the lives of vulnerables via Tumaini Light Christian Organization. Through his project, he hope to help refugees and the host vulnerable Kenyans to sustain in fighting hunger and poverty in the region. After he graduate, Samadou plans to earn a Bachelor degree in Community interpreting and works in the humainitarian field .
