" My ardour and avidity in wildlife conservation, fueled by scientific awareness and education, prompts and excites me to do what I can contribute to Philippine biodiversity. Being chosen as part of this caliber Fellowship will greatly help and amplify this holy grail in concordance with the principles of SDG. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Zero-UP!

Science communication as an impactful solution to underlying social education is an issue here in the Philippines. Many of my fellow Filipinos are disinformed when it comes to studies and conservation in Philippine Wildlife. Others see wildlife species as a threat to the community (e.g., killing of many Philippine and Samar Cobra—Naja philippinensis and Naja samarensis), also, others do enjoy the existence of wildlife as staple food—like the Philippine Bats; in the case of the Dumagat Tribe in Southern Tagalog and even among communities in Mindanao. It has been proven among research papers and publications that the existence of SARS-CoV in wildlife—especially the chiropterans/bats, and its transmission to human through zoonosis is the main factor of zoonotic diseases.
With this, I hope to bring/share the academic and research outputs, information, and recommendation of the Philippine Wildlife and their coexistence with the Filipinos through interactive teaching (for elementary learners) and in layman's term but somehow in-depth to Barangay citizens.
