" I believe that change lies in the passion and determination of the youth to address the world’s pressing environmental challenges. The future of our planet lies within our hands and it is time to act now. I am happy to be a part of this Millennium Fellowship to bring my ideas into action through guided training and collaboration with people who share the same advocacy. I am ready to learn, teach, and work to advance the SDGs for our better future. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Zero-UP!

This project aims to upscale the reach of a zero-waste lifestyle to the entire population of the UP community, one step at a time, for the planet.

This project will focus on practicing a zero-waste lifestyle within the campus of the University of the Philippines Diliman. This aims to address people's ignorance about the grave condition of our generated wastes, the massive use of single-use plastic, and improper segregation and disposal. Also, it aims to create value from collected wastes.

To make this goal happen, the proposed solutions under this project include information dissemination, practicing 5Rs, proper solid waste management, strict trash segregation, total ban of single-use plastics, and putting up a zero-waste shop that sells zero-waste products, reusables, and goods from a jar.

The proponent wishes to change the throwaway culture and the flawed system of solid waste management within the UP community. As a result, UP can be a clean and plastic-free campus that could inspire its stakeholders to shift to better options and a conscious lifestyle for the benefit of the environment.
