Millennium Fellowship Project: Zero-UP!

The Zero-Waste Festival at UP Diliman aims to create a community sharing the proactive route towards sustainability. From August to December 2022, we will be gathering a digital community where strategies and activities on shifting a sustainable lifestyle will be posted bi-weekly in the Project’s social media community (Facebook group, Instagram Page). These strategies and activities that will be posted will be through a diverse form of medium, whether they be an infographic, a short film, a sustainable activity (planting, composting, recycling as a community), and the like. One specific activity I have in mind is gathering your plastic wastes and encouraging participants to drop them off, hopefully at a drop-off point within the campus. This is from a personal experience where during the pandemic, I became more conscious of the amount of plastic waste I consume that the only thing I could do about it is to donate them to organizations that would use them for their product. Specifically referring to the Green Antz Builders where they open plastic drop-off points and produce a new kind of building products made from plastics. To celebrate the bi-weekly projects from August to December, there will be an integration event called the Zero-Waste Festival. This event would invite speakers to share their knowledge about the community's sustainable knowledge, open signatories in partnership with other organizations towards a Sustainable transition within the University, and even celebrate this journey through bonding activities and performances.
