" I am excited to come out of the Millennium Fellowship with a clear action plan to create change on a greater scale and work with people that have these same goals as me. I know the Fellowship will steer and provide a better sense of direction for the passion that I have for environmental preservation and sustainability, whether it is by going into a company and reworking its product stewardship policies or studying law and defending environmental personhood. About the Millennium Fellow

Katherine Tsui Mu is a funny and talented student at the University of Pennsylvania. She was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is currently studying in Philadelphia. Katherine found her passion for sustainabilty and a need for change when Hurricane Maria struck her island in 2017. She saw the impact and destruction across the island and its people. She hopes to learn more about sustainability to create solutions to combat climate change. Five years later, Puerto Rico has still not fully recovered. Katherine's motivation stems from seeing the devastation of her home and working to ensure others don't have to experience it. Katherine hopes to be in a professional field where she can create more sustainable businesses, and contribute in the development of the United Nations' Sustainable Goals.
