United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. Over 31,000 young leaders on 2,400+ campuses across 140+ nations applied to join the Class of 2022.  200+ campuses worldwide (just 8%) were selected to host the 3,000+ Millennium Fellows.

To be Millennium Fellow will help me to aquire improved skills in my field of interest , interacting with other worldwide and be the channel to help me communicating with other students on my campus and easy out reach to community for impacting local community. Millennium Fellowship Project: Riparian For Life

Riparian for life is project that work on SDGs #14 an 1(life under water and no poverty) aim to conserve water body and biodiversity under water by establishing and providing seedling of two multipurpose tree species named Alnus rubra and Alnus glutinosa and mobilizing people on role of trees on health life especially these two for it's quality characteristics of nitrogen fixation ,low water quantity conduction ,timber production ,stakes and can be habitant for some animals like birds by its rootsplanted around water bodies to conserve water body and aquatic animal and increase productivities and income from crops cultivated around rivers to farmers through reducingcontamination and increase of salty in water body, stops soil and crops erosion also impact positively community by income generation by selling crops product and tree products like timber and climate change mitgation by microclimate modification and reduction of global temperature

About the Millennium Fellow

GARUKA Emmanuel is youth who is competitive and interesting student at University of Rwanda .He is Rwandan by birth ,he grew up in Rwanda and live in Rwanda .He has been interesting in agriculture and nature conservation as when he was in secondary school he interested Biology and liked ecology ,he had chance to continue his education at University level where he do forestry and biodiversity conservation .many years ago he was interested in conservation and restoration of degraded natural resources but had not got support but now he get improved skills from different experts . For him it is good time to put effort in fighting right for biodiversity and natural resources to use it's sustainably regionally and globally .He hope that all will be achieved well because he had chance to be with Millennium Fellowship members to aquire improved skills and hope he will get support as his objective is to develop projects for Conserving Biodiversity and use natural resource sustainably as this leads to climatic change mitigation and improved agriculture for ending hunger . working to gether with peers is his aim worldwide to share information and experience as easy way of achieving his aim to having good impact to local community through sustainable goals .
