I have always dreamed of making practical education accessible to any Kenyan (and in future any African) no matter their background, disabilities or work schedule. My passion for philosophy led me to research what made ancienct Greek societies so great and using a core element of ancient Greek education, the notion that education should be used to build on people's innate talents and interests, Excel tutors was born. Though ancienct Greece served as inspiration you'll have to excuse me for stressing that Rome wasn't built in a day. We are currently working with Kenyan youth through our website and zoom to offer tutoring services but we hope to reach a point where any "Mama Mboga" (Local vegetable seller) can be able to pick up their phone and learn finance essentials in a concise way, or an English professor who hopes to learn the basics of Blockchain to sound smart to their friends in their next meeting! And finally, decades from now, I envision Excel tutors having hundreds of physical mini learning points where anyone could simply walk in and be instructed by a previous Excel Tutors benefitee and learn exactly what they want to know.
