About the Millennium Fellow

Miriyam George is a compassionate and empathetic student studying international relations at the University of Witwatersrand. She has always aspired and dreamed of making her mark and positively impacting the world around her. She grew up in different parts of the world and from this, she could experience the different cultures, customs, languages and people first-hand. Miriyam realised the importance of human rights and intersectionality as well as the importance of having a sense of belonging. She plans to get her degree in international relations and law to be directly involved in standing up for human rights.
