United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. Over 31,000 young leaders on 2,400+ campuses across 140+ nations applied to join the Class of 2022.  200+ campuses worldwide (just 8%) were selected to host the 3,000+ Millennium Fellows.

" The Millennium Felllowship programme allows me to explore a particular facet of the United Nations. One that is particularly aimed at equipping university students for social impact. In addition, I would like to cultivate and prune my leadership skills.
I also look forward to engaging with like-minded individuals who have a passion for social change. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Pad Drive Project

The project was aimed at collecting and distributing sanitary products to 2 organisations/institutions located in Johannesburg, South Africa.

About the Millennium Fellow

Rendani Tshitangano is a bright, bold and tenacious young student belonging to the University of the Witwatersrand. She was born in South Africa and currently resides in the beautiful city of Johannesburg.
Rendani aspires to make an impression on the physical well-being of women. She founded a non-profit company aimed at alleviating the issue of period poverty in South African communities. Outside of her passion projects, she enjoys participating in programmes aimed at equipping her for the international realm.
Rendani would like to one day work for intergovernmental organisations such as the United Nations and the African Union with the intention of contributing to global economic and social development.
