Millennium Fellowship Project: Fill The Gap
It is programme that prepares High school students from various low income townships for the transition to tertiary. The aim of this programme is to fill in the gaps and equip high school students with the necessary skills to thrive in both the academic and social spheres of tertiary. We want to provide students with basic courses on academic writing, career advice, assistance in applying for university/college as well as create a network that connects the various faculties of public universities with these high schools, so as to provide the students with real life references to what university life is like.
About the Millennium Fellow
Uthimna Gqangeni is a strong Fine Arts and psychology student who believes in the equality of all humans. She is a staunch advocate for the cause to protect the human rights of every individual (especially the young people, as they are the future of the world). She believes that creating a space for a true and liberated artistic expression removes the borders and obstacles put up by society and our respective realities, and as such allows one acess to the necessary tools and skills to imagine and create a world far better than the one we currently inhabit.
