University of Zimbabwe | Harare, Zimbabwe | Advancing SDG 4 & UNAI 2
" Collaboation is something I've come to appreciate and value. I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow and be part of impactful group projects especially those that help African ladies feel empowered enough to feel competent and influential in their spheres of influence. I am honored to join this year's cohort to make such social impact, and empower young people in our region to realize their potential and become global change makers. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: STEM Girls Africa
STEM Girls Africa (SGA) is an independent project led by Millennium Fellow Laura Maisvoreva. The project aims to engage with high school and University members to promote and empower African ladies in STEM through career & personal development and mentorship programs, to become more competent and influential in their spheres of influence. During the Millennium Fellowship period (August-December 2022), project SGA will host a minimum of 3 online events. The events will be a mix of roundtable discussions, webinars and career development workshops. We are aiming to reach 150 people combined across events. This long term project targets SDG 4.4: to increase the number of people with relevant skills for financial success, and SDG 4.7: education for sustainable development and global citizenship.
