I believe that I'll gain competence skills from my Fellow colleagues such as creativity and leadership skills which will help me to bring my project into life.I hope that Millennium Fellows will be a family I can count on that can help me grow and challenge me beyond my limits. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: My Mental Health in the 21st Century
My Mental Health in the 21st century employs a
multidisciplinary and holistic approach in the sense that it
allows input from different professionals, referrals and is
client centred in nature. This allows for partnerships with
different sectors and organisations with the aim to promote
good mental health and wellbeing in University students.
Partnership allows for mobilisation of resources and speeds
up the implementation of the project. The leadership skills
and knowledge gained from the fellowship have been used in
drafting the project objectives.
About the Millennium Fellow
Mazvita Ashleigh Chibvongodze is an ambitious, purpose driven and empathetic young lady who's pursuing a degree in Health Education and Health promotion at the University of Zimbabwe. She was born in Harare and comes from a middle income family. While growing up life was never easy for her which drives her motivation to be a great young leader. She is a volunteer at Health at Heart foundation which is a non-profit making organization that seeks to promote the health of the people in different special settings such as Children's homes and the community at large. Her heart bleeds at the sight of young children who flee from orphanages and start to abuse drugs in the streets at such a tender age which fuels her energy to address the mental health issues affecting them. She wishes to run a non-profit making organisation that seeks to adress the mental health issues affecting children at orphanages. She has a burning desire to pursue a masters degree in social work or psychology to increase her competency skills towards advocating for mental health.
