" I believe in organic movements and fire starters. I am a firm believer in Amanda Gorman's quote, "There is always light if we're brave enough to see it. If only, we're brave enough to be it."

My concern is to be a light wherever I go. I believe that the Millennium Fellowship will enable me to execute my project in the most effective way possible. I am excited because of the learning prospect that lies ahead. As someone who endeavours to start many projects in the future both far and near, I see this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn implementation and to gain understanding. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Skills4Skool

This is a project that can be described as a social enterprise. Essentially, students will be given a platform to advertise their services and skills on a large platform in order to generate wider reach and greater clientele. The project aims to connect students with opportunities to earn a living. Most students in University cannot finance their education as they come from low-income backgrounds and their parents are inundated with responsibility. Where students find side hustles, they normally cannot compete with people who are in the same industries full time and have been in the industry for longer. Skills4Skool essential enables corporates, firms, and even the University to identify students who are offering a service and enroll the student or group of students to work for them in exchange for payment which goes directly to their scholarly needs such as tuition, rentals, food, etc. There are numerous events that take place at the University of Zimbabwe. It would be expedient if, instead of hiring other people to provide services at these events, students were simply contracted and then paid in such a way that they can cover general expenses. A visit to the University of Zimbabwe will prove that so many students have side hustles only for the purpose of wanting to raise money for school fees. In a single class, a number of students can be seen selling sweets to the other students. The income generated is often not enough to cover all the expenses associated with education. Not everyone can get a scholarship hence social entrepreneurship is the answer. Examples of such initiatives are corporate branding, multi-media work such as digital storytelling, decor, music, dance and art among many other things.
