Millennium Fellowship Project: Health Promotion and Prevention Project

As the famous adage goes, "Knowledge is power."

The first step in achieving SDG-3, Good health and well-being is through awareness. To educate and teach the general public on healthy lifestyles, health promotion, education and prevention. As someone that is keen in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by the end of the year 2030, I came up with this project titled: Health Promotion and Prevention Project (HP Cube). Health Promotion and Prevention Project is primarily focuses on SDG-3, Good health and well-being with SDG-4, Quality Education. The main objective is to pass the appropriate knowledge and information on common communicable and non-communicable diseases that are ravaging the region. Diseases such as malaria, diabetes, hypertension, tuberculosis will be discussed with their causes and prevention in a fun way. Additionally, the Project will also offer insight on the causes and prevention of STDs, oral health as well as basic first aids techniques such as stitching of wounds, CPR as well as mental health first aid.

I was inspired by my mentor, a professor of Anthropology, Molecular Genetics and bioinformatics, (Prof. S.B Danborno) at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
He said to us that " In every Institutions, Organisations, Union and Government that we see things moving forward successfully there are people who are paying the price, it is left for you to ask your self, are you among those that are paying the price?" If your answer is know, then you are part of the problems".
